Happy Monday! The Texas Rangers won the AL PENNANT for the 2nd year in a row, the Cowboys lost, and the Cardinals were on a bye so atleast they can say this past Sunday was a non loss (as pathetic as that sounds) This is a brief post to "tease" what will be covered throughout the week on the site and on the podcast which will be fully done & posted by Thursday!
We will discuss in the History section of the broadcast the opening sequences of the Clan Invasion. Starting with the situation as of 3049 and up until the periphery had been taken and the large successor states started losing ground. So About the first 6 months of the Invasion will be covered. In Politics we will discuss the murder of Myndo Waterly by FOCHT and direct effects of that event.
Mech of the week is the Federated Suns' ENFORCER. Proof of Davion's
obsession with the Autocannon. First produced in 2777, the heavily armed medium mech has plenty of famous appearances in Battletech Military History. The biggest drawback is the autocannon only having ten rounds; engineers have negated this by being able to quickly reload VIA the mechs back. A small crew with a crane can reload an entire lance of enforcers quickly (realistically ten-fifteen minutes) and the operation is so quickly and easily done that the ordinance transports and operators can stay close to the battle, meaning offensive operations can be resumed immediately. This is in stark contrasty to many mechs that when they run out of ammo, the procedure to reload them is so complex that the mech has to go to the rear of the column and will not be able to rejoin the frontline units in an advance for a considerable period of time (from running out of ammo and physically moving to the rear, to going through the reloading process to traveling back to the front lines.. an hour or more time has passed). With this in mind, the quick and effortless reloading time of the enforcer, makes it a valuable front line unit (offensively or defensively).
We will cover the operational history and deployment history of the enforcer, famous mechwarriors who have piloted the machine, in addition to several key historical examples of the enforcer deciding the outcome of a "Federated Suns Victory".
Sticking to the "Federated Suns" theme for our "UNITS OF THE WEEK", we will have the "STUKA" as the aerospace fighter of the week and "GLORY HEAVY FIRE SUPPORT VEHICLE" is the vehicle of the week. All machines discussed in the units of the week will have several pictures in addition to several famous units/paint schemes of those units in which these mechs/tanks/fighters are attached (many thanks to CAMOSPECS in advance for this).
We will also preview a 5 part series on the AFFS which will begin in earnest next week. With TO&E's, deployment information, all new maps, and other accurate historical information never before covered in source-books.
And in the miniature gaming section of the podcast we will discuss the pros and cons of combined arms games and debate over what rule set is best to have a combined arms. Meaning large scale "old battleforce style" rules or original rules with quick strike elements added to it. We will also pose the questions of small sized games played with the original rule set.. how many additional vehicles can each side have to keep the game entertaining and fast paced enough to make it worthwhile. As gamers we like the games to ahjve as much depth as possible. With play testing, we will see exactly how many tanks, fighters, vtol, etc can be added to a typical lance VS lance game using the regular ruleset and how many we can have when playing quick strike and finnally how many we can have for playing battleforce style games.
Stay tuned for daily posts on all what we have to offer this week! Please download the podcast for free, the link will be up sometime Wednesday or Thursday. Each different subject discussed above will be released separately; one each day with any additional images and maps included.

"And So it Begins"
Just set up the page today... I look forward to posting pics, videos, battle reports, updates and exclusives from all aspects of the Battletech Universe! I am currently working on the terrain and attempting to even the sides of a huge BATTLE-FORCE multiple company sized game that I will be GM-ing at several CONS in the next 18 months. Please leave comments and questions.. I hope to get this with a few of my playing buddies into a decent sized site with Podcast and youtube channel once we are all able to coordinate everything and have enough material to truly offer an entertaining program. Thats it for all... I hope this will be as entertaining, informative and discussion generating as I think it will be!
